Configuration

config.lua is the only file that is not escrowed. It holds two things: the map palette the client starts with, and the locations that make up the list on the pause map.

The file ships with 49 example locations in 6 categories (Government, Jobs, Shops, Services, Leisure, Transport). Replace them with your own.

Config.MapTheme

Config.MapTheme = 'light'   -- 'light' or 'dark'

The palette applied once the player has loaded. Anything other than 'dark' is treated as 'light'. Players can switch at runtime with /maptheme, and you can switch them from another resource with exports.enhanced_map:SetMapTheme(...).

Config.Categories

A list of categories, each with a label and its locations. The order here is the order of the categories on the map page.

Config.Categories = {
    {
        label = 'Government',
        items = {
            { label = 'City Hall',         sprite = 419, colour = 3, x = -545.0, y = -204.0,  z = 38.0 },
            { label = 'Police Department', sprite = 60,  colour = 3, x = 425.0,  y = -979.0,  z = 30.0 },
            { label = 'Hospital',          sprite = 61,  colour = 2, x = 295.0,  y = -1448.0, z = 29.0 },
        },
    },
    {
        label = 'Jobs',
        items = {
            { label = 'Taxi Depot',        sprite = 198, colour = 5, x = 903.0,  y = -170.0,  z = 74.0 },
        },
    },
}

Sprites and colours are the game's own โ€” the blips Enhanced Map creates are ordinary blips, so any sprite or colour ID from the GTA blip list works.

Rules worth knowing

Entries with the same label become one row. Four Garage entries in one category produce a single legend row that reads 1/4 with arrows to step through the locations โ€” the same grouping the game uses. Hiding that row hides all four blips.

{ label = 'Garage', sprite = 357, colour = 0, x = 215.0,   y = -810.0, z = 31.0 },
{ label = 'Garage', sprite = 357, colour = 0, x = -337.0,  y = -830.0, z = 31.0 },
{ label = 'Garage', sprite = 357, colour = 0, x = 1180.0,  y = -1350.0, z = 34.0 },

At most 21 categories. Categories beyond that are not shown.

Categories are sorted by you, entries by the game. The categories appear in the order of Config.Categories; within a category the list is alphabetical.

Hidden entries keep their row. Hiding an entry, or filtering it out with the search, removes its blip from the map but leaves the row in the list with a crossed-out icon.

Blips of other resources keep working. They appear above your categories, in the rows the game builds for them โ€” waypoint, player, and anything another script created.

Applying changes

config.lua is a client script. After editing it, restart the server and reconnect โ€” changed client Lua only reaches clients on a fresh connect.
